End of the day at work and I’m handing in my paperwork. The dispatcher is the fill-in guy because the regular guy is off. Without warning he says, “Hey, is it true you’re an author.”
Usually at this point my eyes narrow with suspicion. Truckers are a wary bunch. Instead I answer with a resounding. “Yes!”
“And you have a book?”
“Yes!”
“That’s amazing.”
So, that’s when I hit him with my tried and true sales pitch. “Wanna buy it? 20 Bucks!”
He thinks for a second, then to my surprise says, “What the hell. Yes.”
“Great. I have some in my car.” And just like that I sold another copy of Hound of the Arcanum! Signed it and everything.
Now, how cool is that?
